MedicalOptical 3D Navigation technology plays an important role in medical application since several years and is used in an steadily increasing number of applications in order to achieve more precise and reliable position in movement data. The optical sensor systems based on infrared detection have been developed towards better features and higher functionalities especially concerning accuracy, signal range, signal frequency and reliability.
The FlashPoint - which is the 3D Creator for the medical market - is already used since several years in applications which requires exact localisation data. This includes all kinds of minimal or non invasive surgeries for which either the position of the medical instruments or the position of the laser have to be controlled and as well adjusted.
Another important segment is the integration with medical robots as for example in the CyberKnife application, in which the Flashpoint corrects the position of the robot in the frequency of the breath movement of the patient in order to secure that the X-Ray dose always target the same location.

Increasing wise the Flashpoint systems are getting also used in movement analysis in orthopatic applications, like the analysis and therapy of the spine or in the treatments in which defect joints are getting replaced with artificial joints.
